I don’t know why the news announces weekend box office results and I also don’t know why I find it compelling. Will this release push the movie past Avatar? Am I rooting for that? If I go watch Avengers and it becomes the highest grossing movie of all time am I part of that community? If I go to the lobby after the movie will anyone high five me?
