7:30 ~ Y TU MAMÁ TAMBIÉN: Cinema de la Cultura
co-presented with Cine Las Americas
Presented in partnership with Cine las Americas, Alfonso Cuarón returned to Mexico to make this sensual, honest, utterly free film. Rooted in reality, the film explores the cultural and political landscape of Mexico while simultaneously telling a deeply intimate and personal story of burgeoning teenage sexuality. With largely improvised performances, cinema verité style filmmaking, and poignant narration, the film feels less like a movie and more like something you happened upon. Also, the three leads are fucking HOT.
