A collaboration between childhood friends Drew McCarey (director), Kevin Costello (co-writer) and Kyle Mooney (co-writer/star), Brigsby Bear is a comedy that truly feels like a passion project. It's a love letter to media fandom and creation as a means of building community and healing from trauma.

After a lifetime of isolation, James (Mooney) is suddenly pulled from the only world he's ever known and thrust into a confusing new reality. Overwhelmed and out of place, James finds comfort in the thing that has always brought him joy and a sense of identity--a strange children's TV show called Brigsby Bear. When the show suddenly ends with no real conclusion, James decides to make a movie and give Brigsby the finale it deserves. Along the way, he finds a community of new friends who are fascinated by his story, charmed by his passion, and willing to join him in his endeavor.

If you've ever felt like you didn't quite know who you were or where you fit into the world, but knew your favorite piece of media like your own heart, Brigsby Bear provides a reassuring message: Your people are out there. Keep doing what you love, and you'll find it.
