Everyone talks about this movie like it’s some impossible film, but it exists. They say things like “you could NOT make that movie today,” yet it hasn’t been stricken from the record and forced into some hole to never be seen again. Tropic Thunder is definitely a product of it’s time, but weirdly enough its the one that people seem to be okay with and just nod at (Simple Jack aside, that one was taken pretty negatively then and probably would be cut from the movie today).

If you ask me, Tropic Thunder is one of the best comedies and one of the best movies about how insane Hollywood is. I’d still stand by the claim that you could make this movie today, it just might get buried in some pile that people are trying to forget happened.
