GO FISH (1994) is a landmark of queer representation, premiering at Sundance and proving the mass appeal of lesbian issues. This tender, playful hangout movie is described by director and co-writer Rose Troche as “an antidote to despair.” Troche and co-writer/star Guinevere Turner’s friends and acquaintances from the Chicago lesbian scene join them in a grainy black-and-white historical document of friendship and community that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Get ready for tender romance, random skits, gender affirming haircuts, and piles of butch lesbians.
