Thanksgiving can be the pits, but before you think your holidays are rough, Eliza D'Amico (Hope Davis) has just discovered her lover is having an illicit affair. And everyone is finding out alongside her. In this classic '90s indie, a close-knit family (including Parker Posey and Liev Shriber) hunts for a missing husband (Stanley Tucci) and interrogates him about a torrid love letter. Racing through a bygone era of esoteric parties and earth-tone Gap collections, will this family find him in time to save a crumbling relationship? Though it might be a chilly fall night, this flick's soft color palette and plethora of cigarettes (smoked indoors) will be enough to keep you warm. Charming, melancholy, and darkly funny, steep yourself in nostalgia for old New York, and be thankful that your dysfunctional family belongs to you.
