My pick for best film with the worst title, Let's Scare Jessica to Death is a shockingly gentle and emotional horror film. The film follows a woman fresh from an insane asylum who's almost immediately questioning her sanity after her husband and friends don't seem to notice that the sexy hippy who's been crashing in their island getaway home is obviously a monster. Unlike most films with similar premises, this is a deeply thoughtful look at mental illness, infidelity, fear, and loneliness all wrapped up with some (not so) subtle queer subtext. Come to see some of the best horror that the 1970s has to offer, fall in love with Zohra Lampert's beautifully nuanced performance, and enjoy spending the rest of your life trying to sell your arthouse A24-loving friends that a movie with this title will change their life.
