Richard Attenborough's 1978 horror drama Magic is a lot of things. Focused, methodical, well acted, but most of all its a very quiet movie. A man's descent into madness due to multiple personality disorder is told in an interesting way by using the dummy as the one of the other side. Let's be honest, dummies are kinda scary and this movie just furthers that fear. Fats talks Corky (Anthony Hopkins) through all the darkest parts of his psyche until he breaks down. Anthony Hopkins is at the top of his game here, pulling all that gravitas in and making Fats feel like a real manifestation of the devil on his shoulder.
