Nothing could prepare you for this movie. Even trying to explain the plot feels impossible, like a cruel joke, there’s no way this G-rated movie has a poodle that’s a sex worker? Airport employees that are half human,half pigs? Mickey Rooney burning down a children’s hospital? An orangutan with the gravitas of Orson Welles? Dogs being tortured and cats begging for jellybeans? George Miller is on an absolute rampage with this one. It’s heartbreaking, it’s loving, it’s ambitious, and it’s really quite beautiful. You’ll laugh, you’ll definitely cry, and you’ll understand why Charli XCX gave it 5 stars on Letterboxd.
