There’s a lot of ways one could attempt to summarily categorize Brad Neely’s… thingy called Wizard People, Dear Reader. But a small part of the joy of WP,DR is the moment you learn about it. If that moment for you is right now then here you go:One time in like 2004, this dude was joking around with his friends and then he went home and recorded a fake audiobook that you could play in sync with the 2001 film version of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s[sic] Stone if you put the film on mute. It’s fucking great.

Idiosyncratic, handcrafted, joyful, hilarious, and quotable. WP,DR lives on as a testament to the unserious nature of 2000s culture where everything felt like an inside joke and the power of a deeply talented person getting all the way in their bag. Experiencing it with a crowd is unmissable.
