"His mind is like a clean, hungry sponge."
Based as loosely as possible on a Stephen King story, The Lawnmower Man (which King fucking hated) is about a mad scientist’s (Brosnan) quest to turn a *”simple” lawnmower man (Fahey) into a genius through the power of virtual reality. The experiment predictably goes wrong in the most unpredictable ways, with the lawnmower man evolving into a psychic God that dubs himself Cyber Jesus.
Part prescient take on the ever-consuming and corrupting role of the internet in our lives, part unhinged and offensive early 90s schlock-fest with a chimpanzee in a VR suit called “Cyboman”. It was also David Koresh’s favorite film.
