The ghost of a glamorous 1930s nightclub singer recruits a couple in the search for her long-lost lover, who died in a suicide pact with her. Since 2003 this doomed romance now gives an uncanny feeling; both the lead actors, Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung, tragically died young in the exact same year.

Ring in the Year of the Fire Horse with HEARTBREAK IN HONG KONG, a series of romantic melodramas from the fragrant harbor. February 23-27 we’ll be bringing the pain all week with lovelorn classics and deep cuts. In partnership with Austin Asian American Film Fest (AAAFF), a local non-profit that champions Asian and Asian American stories through film and creative media.
