In partnership with Austin’s own, Black History Bike Ride, and featuring their short “The Route to Emancipation.” 

LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Naomi Osaka, Simone Biles, the list of superstar athletes goes on and on, but there’s one athlete that some consider the first African American sports superstar: Major Taylor. This documentary tells the story of Marshall Walter “Major”  Taylor, a cyclist who in the face of racial adversity became a pivotal figure in athletes fighting against racial discrimination and one of the best in the sport.
