The vitals:
7:00 ~ Doors
7:30 ~ First Times presents: TANK GIRL
In a time where comic book adaptations are sexless and style-free, Tank Girl feels like a forgotten blueprint. Full of punk edge and energetic transitions from animated source material to live action mania, Rachel Talalay’s third film completely marches to the beat of its own drum despite the studio's many attempts to make a more mainstream flick.
With unbelievable production design by Catherine Hardwicke (director of Twilight and Lords of Dogtown) and a soundtrack curated by Courtney Love (founder of the band Hole), Tank Girl is a distinctly ‘90s feminist film with a protagonist devoted to antifascism and fun.
